Infant and juvenile medicine (paediatrics)

Welcome to the paediatrics
In the “children´s clinic“, all children and juveniles from little premature infant to nearly full age teenager are treated.
The fact that children are not little adults and need medical care and treatment according to their age has become generally accepted by now. Therefore, nowadays one usually does not only speak of children medicine but rightly of children and juvenile medicine. A common term for this special field is “paediatrics”.
Our special-and at times very small-paediatric patients are therefore treated in a specifically orientated clinic. And our medical team therefore consists of a team of paediatric nurses und doctors, especially trained for this task.
Children of different age have different diseases and problems. This is why in the paediatrics there is, in addition to almost all fields of specification of adult medicine, such as e.g. neurology (neural), cardiology (cardiac), pneumology (pulmonary diseases), allergology, as well as psychiatry, there exist further fields of specification of adult medicine which are unique in the medical field. One example is the neonatology which engages in the detection and treatment of premature infants´ diseases. Our medical team covers all of the named fields of specification. If an operation should be necessary, it can be carried out promptly and competently owing to the excellent cooperation with our colleagues, experienced in paediatric surgery, from the wards of general, accident and vascular surgery and urology.
Particular qualifications require the medical care of chronically affected children and juveniles, e.g. patients with asthma or diabetes mellitus. In this case, an ample specialised special ambulance is available by word and deed, which takes care of all of these patients´ needs - from initial adjustment to periodical instruction - in a committed and professional way.
But even if it does not concern a medical problem in a narrow sense, we stand by our patients´ and their parents´ side. Due to the narrow cooperation with various regional social organisations, we can give support in difficult life situations at once or procure support in an uncomplicated and confidential way.
…and as, in spite of all our staff´s care and consideration, nothing can replace the mother´s or father´s nearness, normally one parent is always accommodated exempt from charges, and thus can contribute considerably to quick recovery.
